Using the Editor: Site Administration

Note: Site administration must be done using a computer with one of the below browsers:

Save

Select this icon to save your work on the server.

Templates

Select this icon and choose from a selection of preset content layout templates which will provide an easy method to construct your content in a variety of ways.  These include: Floating Left Image, Floating Right Image, 2-column layout, 3-column layout and album.

Source

Select this icon to edit the source code. Source view gives you the flexibility to fine tune HTML and css styles, add Flash object code, insert javascript and other advanced code unavailable in the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) portion of the editor.

Cut

Select this icon to remove selected text from the editor window and place it on your computer's clipboard.

Copy

Select this icon to copy selected text from the editor window and place it on your computer's clipboard.

Paste from Word

Select this icon to paste a copy of information from Microsoft Word into the editor window. In order to retain an exact replica of a Microsoft Word document, Microsoft generates a significant amount of code unnecessary for retaining the basic formatting used in World Wide Web documents. Because the additional code overrides your web site style settings and can cause unexpected results you should always use the Paste from Word feature when copying information from Microsoft Word into your web site. This feature is a best effort attempt at removing all unnecessary code, but we cannot guarantee all Microsoft code will be removed.

Spell Check

Select this icon to spell check your work. We recommend running the spell checker before saving your work.

Replace

Select this icon to find a word or string of text within the editor window. You can also use this icon to find text and replace it with something different. Options can be set to match case or to match the entire word.

Remove Format

Select this icon to remove applied formatting from selected text in the editor window.

Insert Horizontal Line

Select this icon to insert a horizontal line into the editor window.

Insert Special Character

Select this icon and choose from a multitude of special characters in which to insert into the editor window.

Universal Keyboard

This feature is not available at this time.

Form

Select this icon to create a form.  Forms can be used in many ways, such as collecting general information, registration or surveys.

Checkbox

Select this icon to insert a checkbox into your form.  Checkboxes are used when you want the user to select one or more options of a limited number of choices.

Radio Button

Select this icon to insert a radio button into your form.  Radio buttons are used when you want the user to select one of a limited number of choices.

Text Field

Select this icon to insert a text field into your form.  Text fields are used to hold data such as name, phone number and address.

Hidden Field

Select this icon to include a hidden field in your form.  The hidden field is a field that is not viewable to the user, but whose values are submitted with a form. The hidden field control type is generally used to store information between client/server exchanges that would otherwise be lost.

Text Area

Select this icon to insert a text area into your form.  The text area control is a multi-line text input control and is used to write text in the text area.

Selection Field

Select this icon to insert a selection field into your form.  The selection field is used in the same manner as a checkbox and radio button, just presented differently to the user. If you have "Allow multiple selections" selected, the selection field will serve the same purpose as a checkbox. If "Allow multiple selections" is not selected, the selection field will serve the same purpose of a radio button.

Button

Select this icon to insert a button into your form.  A form button is used to trigger an event such as submitting the form, resetting the form or performing a script event.

Insert/Edit Anchor

Select this icon to insert/edit an anchor link.  An anchor is a named zone in your website that allows you to jump from once place to another within a page or to a specific place on another page in your website.

Insert/Edit Image

Select this icon to insert or edit an image or other supported file type in the editor window.  This will access your My Files dialog box.

Insert/Edit Flash

Select this icon to insert or edit a flash file in the editor window.  Set height and width of the file as well as other advanced options.

Insert/Edit Table

Select this icon to insert or edit a table in the editor window.  Tables allow you to arrange data such as text, images, links, forms, etc. - into columns and rows of cells.

Text Color

Select this icon to choose the font color of selected text in the editor window.

Format

Select a format from the drop down list to change the style of selected text in the editor window.

Font

Select a font from the drop down list to change the font type of selected text in the editor window. The font types listed are the Core fonts for the Web which most every browser uses today.

Size

Select a size from the drop down list to change the font size of selected text in the editor window.

Bold

Select this icon to bold selected text in the editor window.

Italic

Select this icon to italicize selected text in the editor window.

Underline

Select this icon to underline selected text in the editor window.

Subscript

Select this icon to create a subscript.  A subscript is a symbol or character that appears slightly below a line of text.

Superscript

Select this icon to create a superscript.  A superscript is a symbol or character that appears slightly above a line of text.

Left Justify

Select this icon to left justify selected text in the editor window.

Center Justify

Select this icon to center selected text in the editor window.

Right Justify

Select this icon to right justify selected text in the editor window.

Block Justify

Select this icon to block justify selected text in the editor window.

Insert/Remove Numbered List

Select this icon to create or remove a numbered list in the editor window.

Insert/Remove Bulleted List

Select this icon to create or remove a bulleted list in the editor window.

Decrease Indent

Select this icon to remove indent formatting on selected text in the editor window.

Increase Indent

Select this icon to indent selected text in the editor window.
